[Localization] Localised LiveCDs, is it possible?

Hi All,
I had a request from the local users of a LiveCD that boots in the 
localised XO environment.
As far as I understand, XO images contains all translations, however one 
needs to put the correct locale information in ~/.i18n and restart.

Is it possible to instruct the image with a boot time option to change 
the locale?
Is anyone using something like this already?
