[OLPC India] A corporate leader stands up and supports OLPC, donates OLPC to Chennai schools

Cognizant Chairman Lakshmi Narayanan has donated a significant number of OLPC XOs to the school children in Chennai.

He is putting together a team to deploy, monitor, evaluate and move forward with the project.

 

He believes OLPC's XO is an amazing laptop and volunteered to donate it to children soon after he saw the laptop with OLPC India Foundation Chairman Satish Jha and browsed through some of its features.

 

Good news is that he is the second industrialist to have stood up on his own to donate OLPC XOs, without any pitch being made to him.. Just taking a look at features for 5 minutes helped them decide on their own, in very incidental meetings..
