I have been following up with the digest and am wondering if it is a good
idea to have two sets of digests-one for the technical folks and the other
for those of us waiting to buy the computers and start using them in the
rural areas.
The Government has been keen to implement ICTs and computer based education
in rural schools as also in the Government and corporation schools. It will
be a good idea to start the process and to work with volunteers like me who
have been in this space for a long time to fire -fight or pro-actively
solve problems so typical to an Indian environment. For us ,bottle necks are
the in things and we know how to get past them.
So it might be a good idea to help those of us waiting to start ,by
formulating a plan and setting off the process.
I am sure the whole thing looks daunting -the sheer size of the country and
differences-the bottlenecks-but starting is a good way to go ahead.
Also because we have thought out methods and ways of reaching an
exciting-oh-so useful -product like this to many and the uncertainty is
definitely worrying .
Warm regards
Gowri
