Dear All,

I had posted a link http://www.classgrid.com/laptop earlier about the
mashup we we building to help collaboration among others who wanted some
OLPCs but not enough to be able to achieve the give-many threshold.

Thank you for all the feedback through this list and personally to me!

We have made a few changes incorporating the feedback. Though we are not
completely ready to release it, it is important to get it out as the
December deadline is approaching fast.

So, please feel free to start using http://www.classgrid.com/laptop .

It should allow you to:

* Tell others that you are interested in procuring x number of
laptops at such and such school.
* Find out about others who are interested in the area.
* Collaborate with others to place a collective order.
* Read about OLPC
o News
o Blogs
o Mailing list discussions

We hope that our 2 cents of contribution in putting this website
together would help the community and the OLPC cause. Please keep the
suggestions coming.

Kind Regards,
Ajay

Khairat Team,

Can you please place an entry? The khairat project deserves to be the
first entry from india there.

Cheers,
Ajay

Hi Ajay!

We will probably get some laptops as part of the planned Austrian OLPC
Pilot (http://www.olpcaustria.org).
But if you plan a larger Give Many Order we could try to organize a
worldwide OLPC grassroot groups order (have you joined
http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/grassroots already?)

Another great idea could be to set up our own jabber server
(http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Run_your_own_jabber_server) to be able to mesh
between all the XOs distributed trough the Give One or Give Many programm.

One of my long time goals is to interconnect pupils from different
continents and that would be a step into the right direction.

Good luck and thanks for you efforts,

cu andreas

Andreas,

I have just joined the grassroots list. I should have done it long ago
actually. Let me also post the link to the grassroots list.

I really like the ideas around cross cultural educational interactions,
and had a brush with one such effort years ago. Count me in. I am sure
we can extend the collaboration framework to facilitate further
collaborations.

Cheers,
Ajay
