Dear all,

This has been an exciting week. For those of you who were asking
about g1g1 international details -- sorry that I didn't have them
sooner. I posted an update from Robert on blog.laptop.org yesterday
night as soon as I could; it was a few hours later than I had final
info because I had to prevent a run on t-shirts.

We will be launching with media and Amazon pages Monday morning in
both the US and the EU; some details on the EU launch are still being
finalized. One thing that is certain : there will be a fine launch /
upgrade party in Cambridge Sunday, (the night before Sugarcamp hacking
begins!) from 0000-0500 UTC / 1900-2400 local, and there are stirrings
about parties elsewhere.

If you are planning something, regardless of size, please write back
and let me know! we'll find some way to Skype you in, or at least
share flickrstreams.

We will be making some final tests to our websites in prep for the
launch and publicity blitz Monday while the party is going on (our
public service announcements will start in many markets), and will
have a terminal set up in the pub; We should be able to Skype people
on occasion in as well. [whether we can get videochat working on our
XOs is another question :) ]

We should be celebrating in many languages -- If you want a translated
version of our g1g1 shirt (attached) or any other printouts, let me
know. We are pushing some fantastic images and video to our flickr
and youtube channels, the result of a month's work; please share /
subtitle / reuse them as you see fit.

More soon,
SJ
