[OLPC-Games] Treenimation project: implementation strategy

Hi Eduardo,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my recent posting to games at laptop.org. I certainly don't want to avoid letting OLPC guys
help me with my project. Keep in mind that I will be spending the next few months developing the Windows/Linux versions of the
Treenimation Runtime in Python (after I finish doing the TIL Loader in Python). After that's done I will be a seasoned Python
programmer, so I may well end up taking your advice (and Luke's/Roberto's advice), and use Python to implement Treenimation Builder,
instead of Delphi.

I intend to begin translating my TIL Loader from Object Pascal into Python this weekend. When that's done I will buy Partition
Magic, make a Linux partition, and download/install Linux/Python/PyGtk/Sugar etc. After Linux is installed, I can begin working on
the Treenimation Runtime. Also I can then take my computer to work and install all our development tools, enabling me to work from
home 3 days a week, only going in to the office 2 days a week (see the 2nd most recent blog entry I made: Working from Home).
Hopefully by Christmas I will be well on my way to implementing the Treenimation Runtime while getting into a routine of working
from home 3 days a week.

Now I had best get busy with finishing reading the Python tutorial, and maybe play with the "Hello World" Python program I wrote a
while back, so I can start learning Python. Thanks again for your comments.

Regards,

Mike Hahn

Hi Mike,

IMHO, developing a Delphi version will be a waste of time, resources,
and it avoids other OLPC guys to help you with the project.

If I was you, I'll try to spend some time learning Pyhton, to build
all with this language.
