Hi Folks... greetings from your favorite MOOC-aholic!
OK here is one I really need to share with you. If you are a teacher, student, programmer, or just curious about the world, you will want to take a look at this course offered by Georgia Tech. Believe it or not, this in an online LAB course!
As the little introductory video says, your world is your laboratory and you will use your cell phone video camera feature, along with open source software you install in the first week, to do experiments with common things in the world around you.
One exciting thing (for me at least) is that it uses open source software that some of you who are developers might be able to rework for Sugar. In fact, I really hope some of you will take a look and see if you might be able to do that.
Unfortunately, it starts before the current semester ends for many of you, but AP exams are over so students may have a little more time now. It runs for 11 weeks. If you are a teacher, you might want to suggest it to some of your students. Some of students they show in the intro video appear quite young.
Anyway, the class officially starts on Monday, May 20, but the pre-course surveys and all of the first week's materials are already there so you can plunge right in if you wish.

Hope to see some of you there!
