I think the $35 price-tag is for students (and subsidized by the
Indian govt.), and doesn't contain a GPRS modem. The commercial
version is priced at INR 2999 (~$60), and will have a GPRS modem
(Probably without 3G capabilities). Both h/w versions won't have a
camera and speakers (but will have audio in/out jacks).
There's news floating around that another faster version is in the
works and early pieces might start to appear around Feb 2012[1].
