OK, I figured out exactly when we need more space in /var/tmp: If yum is
being run as a _user_ (e.g. to search for packages), yum will download
*full* repository information into /var/tmp/yum-<user>-<random>. This
happens even if "sudo yum update" has been run a few seconds before. On
my current test build, the repository information totals to about 70MB,
so a 50MB tmpfs will run out of space.
