Why does Sugar mount removable volumes ?

Well, I guess that might be a flaw.  I would have expected the volume to
be mounted by Sugar.

So that when a volume is made available at a hardware level, the user is
able to access it automatically.  At least, that's my understanding of
the Sugar design.
