probably only if it affects current deployments. but good fixes
for the XO-1 are certainly welcome, since they may be applicable

if we're talking about the same frozen DCON flicker, that's
because a h/w problem in the DCON keeps us from properly
synchronizing when we start things up. (i.e., it's unrelated to
your work, i believe.)

patches are always easier to read, and are the preferred way of getting
someone to take a look at your code.
