Yup, and my last comment on that bug says roughly the same thing :)

I found that 'cheese' fails the same way your Record does.  But
fswebcam does indeed capture a picture.

Is the symptom of that problem recorded anywhere in RH bugzilla?  Do
you have any more information readily available about that change (of
course I can go dig it out, I'm just asking in case you already have).

Sounds like we should start chasing that issue now that the other
one(s) are addressed.
