Thanks for the heads up.

I think I've figured out where the space comes from. It's part of the USB
info from the drive.

/dev/sdb1 3956656 189980 3766676 5% /media/USB Drive
  idVendor 0x090c Feiya Technology Corp.
  idProduct 0x1000 Memory Bar
  bcdDevice 11.00
  iManufacturer 1 LG Electronics
  iProduct 2 USB Drive
  iSerial 3 AA77102200046724

>From the one that works:

/dev/sdb1 973464 914672 58792 94% /media/45F9-9E44
  idVendor 0x0951 Kingston Technology
idProduct 0x1603 Data Traveler 1GB/2GB Pen Drive
  bcdDevice 2.00
  iManufacturer 1 Kingston
  iProduct 2 DataTraveler 2.00000030160
  iSerial 3 0000030160

I can't figure out how to get 45F9-9E44 out of that. Maybe it's a hash of a
long string.

Another one:
/dev/sdb1 1959648 288 1959360 1% /media/KINGSTON

  idVendor 0x0951 Kingston Technology
  idProduct 0x1624
  bcdDevice 2.00
  iManufacturer 1 Kingston
  iProduct 2 DataTraveler G2
  iSerial 3 0019E02B7586A93065380316
