clean re-install w olpc-update

I tried to use olpc-update to force a
clean re-install of an existing 8.2-760
system that had had some non-standard
RPMs installed on it:

  olpc-update -r 8.2-760

To my surprise, instead of restoring to a
pristine 8.2-760, olpc-update reported
that I was already a 760!

The principle of least surprise suggests
that the result of olpc-update osNNN
should be osNNN no matter what the
original OS was.

Is there an option to to a clean install
without installing another version and
then re-re-installing the desired one?
