udevsettle takes 33.5 seconds on 2.6.25 master kernels

This issue is also present in the 2.6.26-rc3 master kernel with the
same kernel log and behavior.

I have not yet tried Yokoy's suggestion to remove ide-generic and make
ata-generic the default.  I will look into that and report back with
the results.
