They seem to have pretty much 100% success with software reflash.
They weren't upset about the number returned for "software" repair
(although it costs them about $7 round trip for transportation).

PS. I took this picture for the spectacular broken screen (note how

material leaked over the touchpad), but in the background you can see
the
stack of machines awaiting reflash at the repair center...
