The most difficult thing when moving to an newer processor is that
developers usually let their laziness show just enough to offset any
gain that the new processor realizes.  You should never count on a
processor or platform to hide your sins.  It never hurts to assume 
the lowest common denominator, and be surprised when your code outperforms
your expectations.
