We were, but as detailed in #5315 we're trying a snapshot of SVN trunk
(nearly ejabberd 2.0) to see if it will be more reliable. My log of
trying to fix the out of memory errors is in bug #5313.

Right, these are correct.

The RPM I linked to is a snapshot of SVN trunk (nearly Ejabberd 2.0),
with the necessary patches applied. It just says 1.1.4 because that's
how Fedora versions snapshots (I think :D). With 1.1.x you still need 3
patches, with SVN trunk just 2. I've updated the page with notes about
how Ejabberd 2.0 needs to be configured differently to 1.1.x.

Can you enable LM_DEBUG, GABBLE_DEBUG and GABBLE_LOGFILE so that we can
see the errors?

Yes, at the moment you need to log in on the web interface to set up the
shared roster. Ticket #5310 is about working out how to avoid this.

Why couldn't you connect? If it was a login problem, register whichever
account is listed as the admin in the config file, using "ejabberdctl
register admin server password" (to register admin at server with password
"password").
