 The core of the problem, as I see it, is that the configurability of this
 chipset challenges the ability of a human to keep track of everything.
 There are just so many registers.  Quite a few of them (i.e. the PCI
 config registers for GX and 5536 functions) are VSA virtualizations.  (Is
 there any documentation for the virtualized registers, or do you just have
 to apply general PCI and PC legacy knowledge?)

 I am slogging through it, but I have to say it is challenging.
