I would think you would get more support requests and broken boards
due to engineers making guesses without good information. Heck, lack
of documentation could have already damaged a few boards: people
hooking the serial dongle up to the wrong connector.

The only people who would bother with the schematics are those who
understand them and need them. I would suggest releasing them given
lack of good written programmer docs.

Aside from the practical argument, no public schematics implies less
openness than the project aspires to.
