Battery charging on OLPC might have some unusual challenges
(Ambient temperature (and its gradient), unstable/underdimensioned power supplies)

Any more hardware details available? Schematic / block diagram /
product requirements document (PRD)?


How would the software interface to the charging circuit look like?
Specifically: Does it allow to pass an array which holds the
maximum permitted current over the external power supply voltage?

So that (a classroom of(!)) OLPC could be configured to have a friendly
load characteristics for (different types of) power supplies
