[olpc-help] XO Laptop (Wont turn on)

Hi Stephen-

I'm assuming the "11.3.0" version indicates this is an XO-1, is that right?

Does the XO run without the battery installed? If it does, it means the
battery isn't the problem, and that the Radio Shack replacement power
supply isn't the problem, either. To test this:

   1. Turn the XO off.
   2. Remove the battery completely
   3. Attach the power supply.
   4. While holding down the left-rocker key (inside the gamepad circle
   with the "<" symbol), start the XO. This forces Self Test mode.

These are pretty complete firmware-level tests. If there's a hardware
failure, these have a good chance of turning-it up.

If they all pass, the problem is next most likely to be software related.
