Just got my lovely XO-1, but it seem to have a serious problem with my
battery. The problem is that after the battery have apparently charged
to full, when i disconnect power and start using it, the XO shuts down
at 72% battery charge. Very annoying! I then surfed and followed the
Richard Smiths instructions at:
http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/community-support/2008-January/001320.html
However, these instructions are NOT doing the job. So what is the problem!!?

Please help if you have any good ideas or resolved the issue.
I'm running: FW: q2d13 (after upgrade) but on the old 656 olpc distro.

Also the instructions (above) can be improved upon. There is no need
for a USB keyboard! And neither a USB memory stick! Just dwonload and
copy the file:
http://dev.laptop.org/pub/firmware/scripts/batman.fth
to: "/versions/boot/current/boot/"

# su
# wget http://dev.laptop.org/pub/firmware/scripts/batman.fth
# cp batman.fth /versions/boot/current/boot/.

Then reboot and...

Just enter these commands, instead of whats shown:

Now at 'ok' propt type:

fload u:\boot\batman.fth' <enter>
1w-init cr bat-save cr bat-set-low cr <enter>

(Note you may skip the "bat-save cr" part if you dont care about a
EEPROM dump file.)
Reboot and follow previous instructions.

Also it may be useful to instead start "olpc-logbat" in the background:

# olpc-logbat &

Regards,
