[olpc-help] Why do Wi-Fi access points disappear from Neighborhood view?

I should have stated "ALL Wi-Fi access points suddenly disappear, while 3 mesh icons remain".

Yes, all disappear at the same time, except for the mesh icons - these remain. This happens periodically, usually when I try to connect to my own secured router.

(PS: They aren't all turned off at the same time (about 15-20 show up) because if I reboot all is fine again).
