[olpc-help] Xfce: first steps?

Is there a way to turn off the wireless completely? I seem to recall
a discussion on IRC that led me to believe it is not possible to
effectively shut off wireless in the current build. Someone was asking
about this specifically in regards to using the XO while flying.

Overall, interesting thread & links. I'm using some of this info
to get set up running gnu screen in the Linux console.
