I've started the RMA process, though it might take a while.  It turns out changing addresses in between the time one receives an XO and returns and XO is a big no-no.  So, they're seeing if I'll even be able to exchange.

However, while I'm waiting, I'd be happy to keep exploring in hopes of finding a conclusive answer.  It's totally up to you.
