[olpc-help] Memorize - lags when building games

I have had no luck when trying to 'build' my own games for the Memorize activity. I've poked around the on-line resources for OLPC, and not finding anything too relevant, I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on things. Or - if nothing else, maybe the folks working on Memorize will see this and know that the program is not working well for some users....

What I'm seeing (recounted here 1st: http://olpcnews.com/forum/index.php?topic=609.0):

* "long" (45 seconds typical) lag when loading 'saved' games to play
* "long" (~45 sec) lags whens loading pictures for games
* no 'journal' window (I think that's what it's called - the 'file manager') opens at all when loading games for continued editing

I see here (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Memorize) that someone says of the Memorize activity: "We are currently working on the editing mode." Could this be the reason for the bad behavior? If it is being worked on - I'm inclined to wait for a fix (rather than the continued frustration of working with it as it is now).

Might an upgrade to build 653 address this? It's not clear to me that it would, based on the 653 release notes.

Does this sound like a Journal issue (that is what Memorize is 'launching' when accessing files, so to speak - right?), or a Memorize issue? i.e. - has anyone seen this with other activities as well?

And now for a newbie question - I see on the wiki page for this activity that version 24 is the latest 'bundle' for this activity. How can I determine that I've got the latest?

Thanks in advance for any feedback - KS
