[olpc-help] XO shuts down when power cord removed

Hi all!
The XO is fantastic! The only problem I'm having is that it will only work when the power cord is plugged in to both the XO and a wall socket. This wasn't always the case, though - it worked on battery power alone for a while before this problem cropped up. The battery charge indicator light is green when it's plugged into the wall (I can no longer get anything to happen when it's not plugged in, so I have no clue what the indicator light would be). I searched the wiki and followed the directions on http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/community-support/2007-December/000310.html to create a battery log.
When I booted with it plugged into an outlet and ran the log, I got numbers like:
1199285351,99,6446480,0,2027,65060,Full,Full
1199285361,99,6446450,390,2025,65060,Full,Full
When I unplugged it, i started getting numbers like:
1199285555,99,5920050,-882682,2052,65056,Discharging,Full
It was working for about 20 minutes, then I was going to plug the cord back in and to see if it'd say "charging"
When I touched the mouse pad, the computer turned off. I plugged the power cord back in, restarted and everything worked fine.
Following the batterlog directions again, I now get numbers like
1199691272,95,6078650,390,1848,64686,Discharging,Full
....
1199691414,95,6075600,0,1849,64686,Discharging,Full
...(after ~5 minutes)
1199691970,95,6076210,0,1872,64687,Discharging,Full
1199691981,95,6074990,390,1873,64687,Discharging,Full
When I unplugged the cord, the XO turned off immediately.
Any suggestions as to what might be going on or what to do about it? I'm thinking of following the directions for the Activated Upgrade (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Activated_Upgrade) to build 653 just to see if that helps, but I'm worried about just adding confusion to the situation.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your help!!
Cheers,
Andrew
