[olpc-help] downloading Flash player

I have read the Wiki and other info. at laptop.org When I open the Terminal there is a log on: and password? which I don't have...

I am afraid to use the password "root" for username?as?"BEWARE -you could destroy all of the software!"

If I am told how to get to the Linux prompt (su 1?) and type in the code to download Flash, how do I get out of the screen with the prompt?
