Need help using cellphone data network vs USB

I agree that from what I know about the general nature of the XO distribution all the pieces are probably already in place. My predicament is that I've done this only with Windows and Mac, but never with Linux. I have set up Linux Ethernet networking, but never dial-up, so I am not sure where to begin. I am happy to post the cookbook "how to" if I ever get it going.
