Note: I am not an employee, just a volunteer. From what I understand, however, the telephone number for hardware replacements is a seperate company (the one that did the actual manufacturing). There is undoubtedly a lot of discussion going on as to how to exactly handle all of the issues coming in a timely and effective manner, so hang in there.
As Walter, the president for software and content of OLPC, said: ".. I was the very first person to order a Give One Get One laptop and I have yet to receive it."
Rest assured, everyone is doing what they can to get all issues resolved as soon as possible.
