 Thanks.  Your observations match mine; the extreme demand for
 recalculation for each animation frame causes the freeze, thaw, unable to
 select an animation frame, and scrolling difficulty.

 But I disagree that these observations happened when you removed the
 Vivante X server OpenGL packages.  These observations were already
 happening with the packages, and with Fedora 18.  See my tests [comment:26
 above].

 My proposal is:
  1. the removal of the packages causes no regression, and is a reasonable
 solution to the out of memory condition (this ticket), and;
  1. the performance of this web page is a different problem; a combination
 of web page design decisions and performance of the XO-4 hardware design,
 and is out of scope.

 If you have experimental data which conflicts with my proposal, please
 share it in full.
