 That's what I should have done, and I believe that would have fixed the
 problem. What I actually did was copied 25-no-bitmap-fedora.conf to
 /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/, remove it from /etc/fonts/conf.d/ and
 then create the symlink. This solves the problem when I first open the
 browser and for some websites, but going to google brings it back again.
 They must be picking up on the fact that 25-no-bitmap-fedora.conf is no
 longer a hard link to the one in
 /versions/pristine/14/usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail. I tried to recreate
 the hard link, but this fails with

 ln: failed to create hard link ...: Invalid cross-device link

 Happened the first time I opened the browser; 25-no-bitmap-fedora.conf was
 in the wrong place.
