 in tests with kernel patch "mwifiex: copy AP's HT capability info
 correctly":
  * symptom is not present if a single XO-1.75 is already connected to the
 ad-hoc network being joined, 13 out of 13 attempts, (presumably because
 the scan results are used to set the HT capabilities and information),
  * symptom is still present in the absence of any other laptop connected
 to the ad-hoc network; that is, with the test bed commanded to join an ad-
 hoc network that does not exist in scan results.

 this isolates the likely cause to the ad hoc start command, or a failure
 to coalesce.
