Comment(by bruno):

I don't know what the version was that I upgraded from. It was whatever
was on the device when it was shipped to me. The Fedora people that
handled shipping the devices out said they didn't even power on the
machines, so it should be whatever it was when it came from OLPC. I got
the XO just over a week ago, so it should have been pretty current, but
 before 12.1.0 was released.

The firmware currently (with 13.1.0) is QD417.

 The p2 output is:
 USB devices:
 /usb at d4208000/hub at 0,0

After repluging the drive the p2 output is:
 USB devices:
 /usb at d4208000/hub at 0,0
 /usb at d4208000/hub at 0,0/scsi04,0
 /usb at d4208000/hub at 0,0/scsi04,0/disk

 The output of
 " /" ['] (show-usb2) scan-subtree
 was:
 /usb at d4208000/hub at 0,0
both when the drive was plugged in at boot and after it was replugged.

When going from 12.1.0 to 13.1.0 I only did the fs-update command. It
looks like there is a separate command to flash the open firmware and I
didn't do that. When I upgraded to 12.1.0 I used the hold down the for
buttons at boot and that may have upgraded both the OS and the firmware?
