 i'm having a bit of trouble understanding the history here.  this bug was
 observed while verifying a new version of the fix for #10757, correct?
 and we think this problem never occurred in the 2.6.35 branch, correct?
 do we know whether this bug ever occurs using an unpatched 3.3 kernel (one
 without any 10757 patches)?
