Comment:

 I can easily reproduce this and keep running into it, even on 12.1.0 os8.

 Keyboard style (membrane/HS) and platform (XO-1.5/1.75) does not seem to
 matter.

 Reopening to ponder what might cause this (if anything needs to be done as
 a prerequisite).
