 Re: "the sounds were gone": After waking up from the screen-off-sleep, the
 animation played silently, so I thought sound was broken. But actually
 going back to the Etoys home screen and playing a sound (car make sound
 croak) worked fine. So after fully waking up, everything seems normal.
