 I'm not convinced there is a problem here. We don't specify MAC addresses
 in the ifcfg files, so the network scripts do not try to rename
 interfaces. We do use udev's persistent interface naming, which ensures
 that cards are persistently named and don't move around. The RH bug seems
 to refer to far older system versions than what we are using.

 Or have you seen something screwing up in practice?
