 The possibility of an unusual USB device configuration might inform
 debugging, but otherwise it is speculation.  USB identifiers are not as
 unique as they should be.  Bert, please provide ''dmesg'' and ''lsusb -v''
 output corresponding to this device.  Samuel, please provide ''lsusb -v''
 output from your set of working (or non-working) devices.  I agree with
 Mitch on debugging with an actual sample.
