 I tested as follows:

  1. Flash 12.1.0 build 15
  2. touch /runin/aggressive
  3. touch /runin/soiled
  4. touch /runin/force
  5. reboot

 One XO-1.75 hung as described after 128 reboots, and the other after 77.

 Then I power cycled, booted into Linux to update the dove RPM, re-created
 /runin/force and rebooted. One XO hung in the same way after 262 reboots,
 the other is still going (at 272).

 (One thing that I found slightly surprising is that when the system hangs
 in this way, it stops suspending and resuming. Do we know why?)
