 No. This is not the expected behavior.  During run-in none of the normal
 services are running.  This includes powerd which is responsible for your
 clean shutdown.  During run-in the battery level should only cycle about
 25-30%.  If you have an XO that reaches critical battery level during run-
 in then its because the battery run-in test has failed.

 The hard power off you described _is_ the expected behavior.
