Comment:

This is ideally invalid; with 12.1.0 os17 on a XO-1.75 I can spot my CDMA
modem with the appropriate usb_modeswitch tweak.

In order to see it in the nm-applet view, I have to create a connection
with nm-connection-editor first. In order to see the modem in nm-
connection-editor, it has to be plugged in prior to use.

Once everything is setup I can get online through the CDMA modem. But
Network Manager in 12.1.0 either disconnects actively when idle, or the
modem's own idle mode is causing the XO to disconnect and not see the
 modem without reattaching the cable.

nm-applet no longer reports modem's RF level though, which is a regression
ideally internal to nm-applet or NM.
