Comment:

 it's time to look at this issue seriously again. on a 1.75, with 8G EMMC,
 with an initial installed os27 (i.e., kernel 3.0.19, plus olpc patches)
 image size of 4G:
 {{{
 bash-4.1# time olpc-nosleep resize2fs /dev/mmcblk0p2
 resize2fs 1.41.12 (17-May-2010)
 Filesystem at /dev/mmcblk0p2 is mounted on /; on-line resizing required
 old desc_blocks = 1, new_desc_blocks = 1
 Performing an on-line resize of /dev/mmcblk0p2 to 1924096 (4k) blocks.
 The filesystem on /dev/mmcblk0p2 is now 1924096 blocks long.
