Comment(by dsd):

 Discussed on IRC - we'll go with the "move command submission into the
 kernel" approach for 12.1. This has the advantage of being a relatively
 direct code transplant from userspace to kernel space (i.e. not invasive),
 but has the disadvantage of being rather ugly.

 We'll find a nicer solution as soon as possible (#12049) - for the next
 release we can accept an invasive fix.

 kernel part pushed to x86-3.3 as d5caefc

 Jon, do you want to take the chrome patch in your git repo and make a new
 release (http://dev.laptop.org/~dsd/20120814/cmdqueue.patch) or would you
 prefer that I keep this nasty hack well away from your codebase? (I could
 fork the RPM and patch it in there)
