Comment(by shep):

I have now figured out how to reliably reproduce this bug, and how to
 reliably avoid this bug.

I've been shutting off NetworkManager first thing, with "chckconfig
NetworkManager off" on XO-1.5's I've been using. I've also been using
"olpc-nosleep bash" on the serial line console
first thing after booting, and using "rtcwake -s 20 -m mem" to test the
 suspend and resume.

What I've learned today is that if I turn NetworkManager back on, this bug
 never happens.

If I leave NetworkManager off and don't type "olpc-nosleep bash" in time
on the serial console after a reboot, the bug always happens.

If I get the "olpc-nosleep bash" typed in time, the bug never happens (and
I can use "rtcwake -s 20 -m mem" without any trouble).

Paul comments that this is interesting because powerd uses rtcwake to do
the automatic suspend, but does some other things first and that maybe
this bug is related to those other things.

Richard comments that this is probably good news because maybe this bug
does not have to block 12.1.0 because no deployment would be turning off
 NetworkManager.

But there is definitely still a bug here.
