 Asking udev to settle will slow down boot. I would avoid that option to
 avoid punishing regular users.

 Maybe the X configs can be swapped by udev rules, and the users can simply
 be asked to restart the session once the display comes up. I also think we
 could make the udev hotplug event thing work right, race-free, with some
 simple logic.

 Alternatively you could match USB device IDs, or build the sisusb driver
 into the kernel.

 Another option would be to look at the possibility of loading the sisusb
 config at all times - X's logic to allow configuration for possibly-non-
 existent devices has improved in recent times.
