 Interesting

 A code review indicates that current gnome-control-center 3.3.91 has the
 the "datetime: Port to systemd's timedated service" patch
 http://mail.gnome.org/archives/commits-list/2012-January/msg08731.html --
 so we can assume that control center will DTRT through systemd.

 Currently, yum install control-center ; gnome-control-center datetime
 dumps core on XO-1.75. Tracked as #11810

 * olpc-update-query code uses hwclock correctly (code reviewed)
 * ntpdate does not set the RTC
 * date does not set the RTC
