 Thanks Carlos!

 I think it needs testing first. For example, I imagine this will disable
 (or at least negatively impact) the ability to select a text range with
 the mouse, as the mouse will be considered a touchscreen. I wonder if it
 will have other effects too.

 As for the 12.1.0 vs 12.2.0 inclusion question, I think another major
 aspect is who is going to maintain the gtk2 package fork. (not me,
 please). Based on the maintenance burden alone I think we should only ship
 it in 12.2.0 where we really target touch. (but having test packages
 available long before is fine, of course)

 And before inclusion in any release I think we need to firmly define when
 we will drop the fork. I think we should commit to dropping it in the
 release that follows 12.2.0.
