 The LED is off when charging, after powering up the laptop turns it
 orange.

 > And is the XO idle and/or aggressively suspending at the time the XO
 decides it has to turn off?

 Left idle in aggressive suspend, screen has blanked, power led blinking
 green every 5 sec or so, I've not observed them actually at the moment of
 shutdown, only a little while later when I realise the blinking has
 stopped (so am not sure if they showed a red battery warning, or a clean
 shutdown & power off).
